Introduction
A collaboration between ATS, McLaughlin and Harvey, and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service redefined flooring excellence in Scotland.
The 4500sqm Asset Resource Centre project merged precision with design, earning the Large Commercial Project of the Year – UK at the 2023 Resin Flooring Association awards.
The Project
The project took Scottish Fire and Rescue’s Asset Resource Centre beyond a functional space. ATS and Flowcrete, alongside Keppie Design, faced the challenge of creating a floor that balanced utility with aesthetic appeal.
The goal was clear: create a durable, design-centric floor that met operational and aesthetic needs.
The application process was meticulous.
It started with diamond-ground floors for a clean base, followed by a damp-proofing primer.

The main act was the Flowcrete Flowfast MMA Flake and Quartz application. Two-tone borders and detailed cove work (300mm high cove details and 100mm in toilet areas) added complexity, ensuring a seamless, design-rich finish.
Recognised industry-wide and awarded at the 2023 Resin Flooring Association awards, this collaboration showcased the power of combining expertise and vision.
