Floors sit at the centre of programme risk.
Once covered, they’re rarely seen again — but they live with the building for decades. Cracking, delays, surface issues and preparation work don’t just affect the floor itself. They affect everything that follows.
At ATS, we challenged a default question internally:
Was the screed we were using still the best option for the clients relying on us?
That question led us to ARDEX UK and the adoption of ARDEX FLOWPLUS as our preferred flowing cement screed solution.

A More Predictable Approach to Screed Delivery
Modern construction programmes demand more from flooring systems than ever before.
Projects are moving faster. Trades are stacked tighter. Delays become expensive quickly. The industry no longer just needs a screed that can be installed – it needs a screed system that supports programme certainty.
ARDEX FLOWPLUS gives ATS greater control over the installation process and long-term performance of the floor. Developed by ARDEX and KNOPP, FLOWPLUS is a next-generation liquid cement screed engineered to behave predictably over time.
The system delivers:
- Very low shrinkage, helping reduce cracking risk
- Exceptional smoothness and strong surface regularity
- Low laitance, reducing preparation time
- Walkable surfaces within 24–48 hours
- Suitability for wet areas with the correct waterproofing systems
- No requirement for additional curing agents
Individually, these may sound like incremental improvements. Together, they remove friction from the programme.
Why Delivery Matters as Much as the Material
Not all screeds behave the same. But equally important — not all delivery methods produce the same outcome.
That’s why ATS invested early in TransMix technology.
FLOWPLUS is installed using ATS TransMix trucks, with material mixed on demand directly on site under computer-controlled batching. This approach removes many of the variables that traditionally introduce risk during installation.
For clients, this means:
- Greater consistency from pour to pour
- Reduced waste
- Flexible installation timings
- Better control on restricted-access sites
- Improved support for complex sequencing and demanding programmes
This delivery model allows ATS to support projects that others often struggle to accommodate – including early starts, late pours, tight-access environments and fast-moving programmes.
Built for Underfloor Heating Performance
ARDEX FLOWPLUS is also ideally suited for underfloor heating applications.
Its flowing consistency fully encapsulates heating pipes, helping support consistent heat transfer through the screed. The system offers very low shrinkage rates of 300–500 μm/m, helping reduce cracking risks during thermal cycling.
The system supports efficient floor build-ups with:
- Minimum cover depths of 25mm above pipes in domestic applications
- 30mm cover depths in commercial environments
FLOWPLUS can also be installed over Thermal Lightweight Aggregate (TLA) insulation systems, supporting highly efficient floor constructions.
One System. One Warranty. Clear Responsibility.
At ATS, we believe clients value certainty.
They want:
- trusted delivery partners
- technical expertise
- precision and quality assurance
- dependable performance under pressure
- long-term operational reliability
That’s why the partnership between ATS and ARDEX matters.
The combination of high-performance screed technology and controlled on-site delivery creates a more dependable flooring solution for modern construction programmes.
As ATS Founder and Managing Director Jason Lister explains:
“We’re judged on what happens after we leave site. Cracking. Delays. Prep work. That’s what clients remember. FLOWPLUS gives us more control, and that gives our clients fewer problems.”
